Mattel estimates that its expansion next year exceed 10% in the country, the company predicts a 5% rebound in sales of the next Christmas season.
The largest toy manufacturer in the world, Mattel, said Monday that will end the year with growth of 2% in Mexico, despite the global economic meltdown.
"Mexico is the country's No. 1 selling toy in the world", said at a press conference the director of Mattel Mexico, Roberto Isaias.
In turn, the country is the third largest exporter of toys in the world, he added.
The Mexican toy industry contributes 1,000 million dollars a year, 0.2% of Mexican GDP.
"The situation (economic) is very negative context, but is very good in expectations," said Isaiah.
"In 2010 we will grow at double digit in Mexico, more than 10%," the manager felt the brand manufacturer of the Barbie doll.
With a 5% spike in sales in the Christmas season and our more than 700 products, we regard 2010 as a full recovery, he concluded.
